Your mission
Your missionAs System Owner for Energy Systems, you drive the development of next-generation energy solutions for IONITY’s high-power charging infrastructure. In this role, you act as a technical authority and lead the design and implementation of energy supply concepts across Europe. You collaborate with internal teams and external partners, manage technical suppliers, and contribute to IONITY’s involvement in standardization activities.
Your responsibilities
- Define and evaluate grid-connected energy concepts for electric vehicle charging infrastructure
- Lead technical development projects for substations, low-voltage systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), solar PV, reactive power management, and microgrids
- Conduct technology scouting and evaluation of emerging energy technologies
- Represent IONITY in national and international standardization bodies
- Specify requirements and system concepts for LV distribution on charging sites
- Lead procurement-related technical activities, including tenders and supplier assessments
- Develop integration strategies for alternative energy sources (e.g., batteries, solar PV) at charging sites
- Support teams and partners across all project phases from planning to commissioning
- Assess site-specific proposals and technical special solutions from suppliers
Your profile
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical or Electrotechnical Engineering, ideally with a focus on energy systems
- Minimum 5 years of experience in energy systems, including substations, LV components, BESS, PV, and microgrids
- 2–3 years’ experience in designing LV electrical systems (transformers, cables, fuses, breakers)
- Solid understanding of European electrical grid infrastructure and regulatory context
- Proven experience in managing technical suppliers and development partners
- Knowledge of big data analysis tools and methods
- Background in charging infrastructure is a strong plus
- Fluent in English (mandatory); German and other European languages are a plus
