Your mission

The IONITY Operations team is looking to hire a Field Service Engineer to provide diagnostic and technical support during the servicing of our High Power Charging (HPC) stations. You will travel to our HPC sites within a defined region to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities at existing stations. Experience with and confidence in handling such systems is essential.
The home office base for this role is located in the South of France (ideally the Toulouse area) or the North of Spain.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support in order to minimize system downtime

  • Onsite root cause analysis, service, repair, and maintenance actions

  • Ordering and handling of spare parts for our HPC stations

  • Debug systems and perform remote diagnostics on field failures by reviewing logged data

  • Support in developing processes, documentation, and diagnostic knowledge for standard service actions

  • Recognize trends and patterns in field failures and provide feedback to the central team to drive improvements

  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure new issues are thoroughly investigated and that corrective measures are implemented

  • Travel internationally when required, including for internal workshops and cross-border repair missions

Your profile

  • Certified professional electrician; additional Environmental, Health, and Safety certifications are a plus

  • Switching permit for medium voltage devices/transformers

  • Approximately 2–3 years of experience as a field service technician, ideally with similar technical equipment

  • Willingness to travel regularly – sometimes on short notice and for extended periods – with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset

  • Availability for off-hours calls and assignments

  • Technical degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with external service providers

  • Fluency in French and English (written and spoken); additional European languages are an advantage

  • Strong self-management skills with excellent organizational and documentation abilities

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and challenges simultaneously

  • Proficiency in standard office and database software (MS Office)

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
