From major holiday routes in France to popular gateways in Germany and Croatia, these IONITY Locations helped power thousands of summer journeys across Europe in 2025.

We’re counting down the five most popular stops on our network, based on charging visits across the summer period.

Alongside each location, we’ve also suggested nearby alternatives. They may be less familiar, but they can be a great option when you’re planning your next road trip.

Fifth place in the IONITY 2025 Hot List

#5 Vidauban Sud

Our fifth most popular charging stop of summer 2025, IONITY Vidauban Sud was a favourite for drivers heading towards the Mediterranean coast.

It’s also the only location on this list where drivers stopped for less than 25 minutes on average, but who could blame them with southern France on the doorstep?

  • An average of 93 drivers charged here every day throughout the summer
  • Drivers charged for an average of 24 minutes before continuing their journey
  • Saturday 12 July was the busiest day of the summer for this location

Fourth place in the IONITY 2025 Hot List

#4 Jura

Coming in at number four, IONITY Jura helped power summer road trips, mountain escapes and journeys through one of France’s most scenic regions.

It also brings serious charging power, with six 350 kW and four 400 kW charging points.

  • An average of 109 drivers charged here every day over the summer months
  • Most drivers charged in less than 30 minutes before continuing their journey
  • Saturday 19 July was the most popular day for visits to this location

#3 Village Catalan

Third place goes to IONITY Village Catalan, conveniently located near the French-Spanish border.

While it may only be number three on this list, Village Catalan almost had a hit of its own when it recorded the second busiest day of summer 2025.

  • Drivers took an average time of 31 minutes to recharge
  • Saturday 26 July was the busiest day of the summer for Village Catalan

Second place in the IONITY 2025 Hot List

#2 Zadar Tromilja

The second hottest location of summer 2025, IONITY Zadar Tromilja shows just how popular Croatia was with EV drivers last summer.

That’s no small achievement, considering it’s the only location to make the Hot List outside Germany and France.

  • An average of 132 drivers plugged in every day in summer 2025
  • Drivers recorded an average session time of 29 minutes
  • Thursday 31 July was the busiest day of the summer for this location

#1 Lüneburger Heide West

The most popular IONITY Location of summer 2025, Lüneburger Heide West was our hottest destination for summer road trips.

Its peak moment came on Friday 11 July, when it welcomed more drivers than any other location featured in this year's Hot List.

  • One of Europe's favourite summer charging stops, with an average of 134 drivers every day
  • Drivers charged up in around 27 minutes before continuing their road trips
  • Friday 11 July was its busiest day of the season
