While the IONITY App shows when charging points are available and offers helpful details about our locations, you don’t need the app to charge using the charging card. However, please note that the charging card can only be ordered and managed through the app.

IONITY Monthly Subscriptions are valid in 23 European countries, there is no minimum contract period, and the subscription can be terminated at any time with a notice period of one month.

IONITY Annual Subscriptions are also valid in 23 European countries. Each subscription ends automatically at the end of the contract term after 12 months and is not renewed automatically. If you want to continue using the annual subscription after the 12-month term, you need to actively sign up for a new subscription.

1. In the App, tap on “Profile”
2. Then navigate to “Charging Card”
3. Here you will find the option to “Activate your charging card”
4. Enter the card number you find on the back of your card and confirm.

1. Organizer  

The organizer of the Winter Giveaway is IONITY GmbH, Moosacher Str. 84, 80809 Munich ("IONITY").  

This giveaway is not connected to the platforms on which it is promoted, such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Reddit, and is in no way sponsored, supported, or organized by Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and/or Reddit.

2. Participation  

2.1 The Winter Giveaway takes place from 30 November 2025, to 24 December 2025. To participate in the giveaway, each eligible participant must provide the requested data in the form (i.e., first name, last name, email address as registered in their IONITY customer account). By participating in the giveaway, the participant accepts these terms and conditions.  

2.2 Eligible participants are individuals aged 18 and older who are purchasers of an IONITY subscription (i.e., IONITY Power / IONITY Power 365 or IONITY Motion or IONITY Motion 365) that is valid during the giveaway period or who will conclude such an IONITY subscription by 6 PM CET on 24 December 2025 at the latest. Furthermore, to be eligible, the individual must reside in one of the countries where IONITY operates charging stations (see ionity.eu), with the exception of Portugal. Multiple entries to the giveaway are not permitted.  

2.3 Employees of IONITY GmbH and/or affiliated companies and their immediate family members (spouses, children, parents) are excluded from participation in the giveaway.  

2.4 IONITY reserves the right to exclude individuals from the giveaway in the event of a violation of the terms and conditions. Those who provide false personal information may also be excluded from the giveaway.

3. Procedure  

3.1 Every eligible participant who truthfully enters the required data on the platform where the giveaway takes place during the aforementioned period can participate in the Winter Giveaway.  

3.2 Prizes will be drawn randomly from all participants who enter the giveaway during the giveaway period.

4. Prizes  

4.1 The following prizes will be drawn among all participants:

• 1x 1 La Marzocco Linea Micra (espresso machine) in IONITY design
• 24 x 1 credit from IONITY for 400 kWh

Each winner will be contacted via email on December 28, 2025.  

The respective prize will be handed over to the winners personally or sent by post. Any customs fees incurred due to the shipping of the prize shall be borne by the winner.  

4.2 Only the prizes specified in these terms and conditions are eligible for the draw. Legal recourse is excluded. Prizes are not transferable and cannot be assigned. The respective winner is responsible for any taxes incurred on the prize.

5. Liability / Warranty / Changes to Terms and Conditions and/or Prizes

5.1 With the handover or transfer of the prizes, IONITY, its employees, and representatives are released from any obligations arising from this giveaway. IONITY, its employees, and representatives are only liable for intent and gross negligence. This does not apply to injuries to body, life, and health, as well as claims under the Product Liability Act. In cases of simple negligence, IONITY, its employees, and representatives are only liable if a significant contractual obligation has been violated. In this case, liability is limited to typically foreseeable damages.  

5.2 In accordance with Section 5.1, IONITY, its employees, and representatives assume no liability for damages that may arise in connection with the acceptance of the prizes and/or subsequently. IONITY, its employees, and representatives assume no liability or warranty for material and legal defects of the prizes drawn. IONITY, its employees, and representatives also bear no costs that may arise for the winners through the acceptance or redemption of the respective prize.  

5.3 IONITY, its employees, and representatives do not guarantee the problem-free use of the internet and platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, or others. Furthermore, IONITY is not liable for disruptions and/or the loss of electronic transmissions/downloads.  

5.4 IONITY reserves the right to make changes to the announced prizes if circumstances require it. Objections are not possible. IONITY also reserves the right to shorten, extend, change, or cancel the giveaway without giving reasons and without any claims for liability or damages arising from this. These terms and conditions may be changed by IONITY at any time without giving reasons, particularly for legal reasons. A termination or cessation of the giveaway occurs especially if legal reasons prevent the proper execution of the giveaway. If such termination is caused by the behavior of a participant, IONITY may demand compensation for any damages incurred.  

5.5 IONITY assumes no liability for the content of comments/user contributions, even if made in the context of the giveaway.

6. Data Protection  

Participant data will be processed in accordance with Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR solely for the purpose of conducting and processing the giveaway and will subsequently be deleted unless there are legal retention obligations.

7. Applicable Law

In the event of disputes, only German law shall apply.

While the monthly base fee and annual one-time fee for our subscriptions remain the same, charging prices may vary by country when you're traveling. You can find the charging prices per kWh for each country further up on this page by switching between countries using the drop-down menu.

Your charging card is accepted at all IONITY charging points. Charging sessions will be billed in the local currency of the country where the charging takes place. You can view the price per kWh for each specific charging site directly in the app.

The best way to avoid queues at EV chargers during summer holidays is to plan ahead and use a route planner, such as the one in the IONITY App, to identify peak charging times. You can also use the IONITY App to view the number of chargers at each IONITY Location, check charger availability before arriving on-site and identify how close to finishing a session each driver is when you arrive. You can upgrade to IONITY Power anytime within the IONITY App. Just go to the associated section and select your desired new subscription plan. You will receive an order confirmation in the IONITY App and at the email address registered in your user account. The upgrade will be implemented immediately and displayed in the IONITY App. You can also downgrade from IONITY Power to IONITY Motion within the app, which will be reflected in the IONITY App, but will only take effect from the next billing date.

The IONITY App is helpful for navigating but the charging authorization must be processed with the IONITY Fleet Charging Card.

The price for charging with an IONITY Charging Card is the same as when charging through the app. You can view the charging rates in your subscription details under “Subscriptions” in the app.

IONITY Motion and IONITY Power are monthly subscription plans with reduced kWh prices and a flexible monthly contract that can be cancelled at any time. IONITY Motion 365 and Power 365 are annual subscription plans that offer the same kWh prices as the corresponding monthly plan (Motion or Power) but run for 12 months with the subscription charged as a one-time upfront fee. Each plan ends automatically after the 12-month term without renewal.

Yes, all charging sessions per country and the access fee (IONITY Fleet Charging Card fee) will be invoiced once per month to your dedicated fleet operator.

You can only have one active charging card at a time. If you need a new card (e.g. due to loss or damage), simply cancel your current one in the app and order a replacement.

Yes, you can switch from a monthly subscription to IONITY Motion 365 or Power 365 at any time. The change takes effect immediately after you confirm and pay for your annual subscription. Please note that switching from an annual to a monthly subscription is not possible until the end of the 12-month term.

We do respect GDPR and do not link any personal data with our IONITY Fleet Charging Cards. However, the monthly invoice with charging sessions will list the card’s UID numbers that have been used for authorization. So, the fleet operator has an option to check the usage.

Yes, you can upgrade to IONITY Power 365 from Motion 365 at any time. When you do, the fixed term of your new annual subscription will begin on the date you make the switch, and we will offset the difference in subscription costs on a pro rata basis.

You can cancel your subscription in the IONITY App at any time. After cancelling your subscription, it will stay active until your next billing date, which you can see in your account. Your billing date is the date your annual subscription ends or the date you are invoiced monthly for your monthly subscription.

The monthly subscription fee will be collected and invoiced monthly, starting with the day you subscribed and then every month the same date, your billing date. For example, if you subscribe on 02.06.2024, you will be charged and invoiced on the same day. The next month you will be charged and invoiced on the 02.07.2024.

The one-time annual subscription fee will be collected and invoiced at the beginning of your subscription and will apply for 12 months of subscription costs. For example, if you subscribe on 02.06.2024, you will be charged and invoiced on the same day, and your annual subscription will remain active until 02.06.2025.

You can easily pay for charging at IONITY chargers in 24 countries across Europe using contactless, your credit or debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. You can also unlock a reduced charging price by using the IONITY App or signing up for one of our subscriptions.

Yes, you can charge your EV without having an IONITY subscription. However, the savings you make as an IONITY Motion customer often pay off after just one charging session (with an average charging session of 30 kWh).
